We’re now looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our growing team.

Role

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our accountants with bookkeeping, financial reporting, and administrative tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in accounting within a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of management accounts and financial statements
• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping duties using accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, etc.)
• Reconcile bank statements, supplier and customer accounts
• Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and promptly
• Assist in preparing VAT returns, payroll, and other statutory filings
• Support senior accountants with year-end accounts and tax computations
• Maintain client files and ensure all documentation is up to date
• Provide administrative support to the accounting team as required

Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

• Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role (practice experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude

Desirable:

• Studying towards or part-qualified in AAT / ACCA / ACA
• Experience working in an accountancy practice
